Design and Manufacture of Stamping Dies

AAPICO Hitech PCL is a full service die design, engineering, tool manufacturing company and OEM stamping manufacturer. This means that the majority of our dies are made for use in our in-house production facilities. We develop, design and manufacture cold stamping dies for sheet metal forming applications on our transfer, tandem and progressive press lines. We have received a ‘Die and Mould Best Practice’ award from the Thai-German Institute. A team of Japanese die specialists oversees and checks die designs and method planning to ensure the process is optimised and feasible prior to commencing manufacture. Our CAD/CAM facility utilises the latest design, simulation & manufacturing software linking directly to our CNC machinery. Autoform is used to simulate the formability of parts, and our engineers participate in stamping feasibility studies with customers during the part design phase. Catia v5 is used for communication between our design team and our CNC machines.

We have an extensive toolroom, incorporating 8 large CNC machines, with bed sizes up to 5m long and machining heights up to 1.5m. A laser cutting machine and tryout presses enable both prototype and production trials to be conducted in-house. All manufacturing processes, with the exclusion of casting are contained in our own toolroom. For this reason, all larger dies are made by AAPICO, whilst some of the smaller dies are outsourced to our network of 5 ISO 16949-accredited tier 2 suppliers, under the supervision and project management of AAPICO engineers. AAPICO has in-house capacity for approximately 32 die sets per month, and our tier 2 base, a further 60 sets. If we are not making dies for our own OEM production purposes, we can use any spare capacity to provide dies directly to OEM’s.
